Stephan Paetsch had the highest scoring ride of the event in the first ride of the Men Open K1 Semi Final, despite the fact that he was paddling a C1.
Tam won the Retro Event, paddling a sit-on-top.
This year the Retro event was also combined with a "Big Move" competition which was won by Andi O'Connell, who threw an aerial blunt and a donkey flip in the same ride.
Bliss-Stick kayaks donated a kayak, at the end of the event today, to Emma Runciman.
The event: The Niamh Tomkins Memorial Rodeo is an annual freestyle
kayak event at Fulljames rapid on the Waikato River, Taupo, New Zealand.
It is a competitive rodeo, but the emphasis is also on fun and encouraging
people from all skill levels to enter.

The event is held in memory of Niamh Tomkins, who tragically drowned
in a swimming accident at the 1999 World Freestyle Kayak Championships at Fuljames.
Niamh was a member of the Irish team and had spent several months in NZ before
the event. She made many friends in NZ, and especially in the local paddling
community. Check out: http://www.irishfreestyle.com/dedication.shtml
